Minutes before I had looked at particularly awesome coronal images by a professional astronomer on Instagram. This digital artwork is my interpretation of the Sun’s surface including coronal mass ejections.

Highly technical digital painting techniques were utilised to produce this piece. Approximately two hours or thereabouts from start to finish. An hour of those two hours is mostly my honing the image tones and perfecting visual elements prior to publishing.

I chose the name of the artwork title in honour of Eratosthenes of Cyrene.
