CHESS… I think

A chess poem I wrote circa 2006, entitled exactly as with the inked pen:

“CHESS… I think”

A chequered board, timed obsession ticks

Shifting torso conveying thoughts dishevelled kicks

Here, there – oh I just don’t know

The opposite number hiding gleeful grins

Not long before the sweating King keels over lost

Resigned to an imaginary ‘civil’ war embossed

If only there could be a draw

But oh yes, I see now where I went wrong

It was in days afore, oh so long

When this seeming art took up to see beyond

Is more than jigsaw pieces surrounding throng.”

Evolutionary Revolutionaries

The English language translation is ‘Artforms of Nature’.

Haeckel’s work is artistically exceptional.  Lithographic process is intricate, often requiring specialist equipment and techniques.

We all have different beliefs or non-beliefs, however, no one can argue with factual drawings.  When considering events prior it’s no wonder Charles Darwin boarded a boat in a quest to find natural world answers.

The force of nature is cause and effect.

I would like to mention that this is a serious art blog dignifying natural languages and cultures of the world.  Readers will see from my previous and future blogs that I cover as many countries and cultural styles as possible.

My own personal thoughts as regards religion and non-religion is to respect other people’s reasonable law abiding opinions.

The Above & Beyond

nebuchadnezzar1795

I would like to encapsulate all peoples in my blog regardless of your gender, race, religion, belief, colour, creed, physical or mental ability, political or personal viewpoints because of words that remain to this day.

“Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me.”

I’d like to share an anecdote because I know a man whom..

..Once upon a time went ten days much without the covering of shelter, ten days without food, starving hungry yet strong as an ox that carries the heavy weight for miles around, his very last ‘five coins’ given in the form of a note to a mute homeless beggar hungry as the man is he, concrete steps for sleeping are the man’s, oh so very cold, and those metal wrought benches of ports.  New friendships were found and remembered an eternity, their having nourished him with comfort, fed delicious fried potatoes and made jolly in heart two young ladies made into a song.

There is one thing that the man who brought upon himself that strangely unusual time will never forget.  The beggar returned some three days later to the man sleeping on the port bench, the beggar having made his regular obsessional disjointed circuits of the port.  The shaggily bearded beggar’s dishevelled muted expression positively aglow with joy with his bag full of food from the ‘five coins’ he’d received.

Would you like to know what the poor mute beggar did next even to the man’s blissful surprise?  Well, the beggar full of good cheer seemingly having appeared unknowing of his mindful senses unselfishly gestured for the man to take some fruit from his bag of food.  A few oranges the man gladly accepted to make happier still further the beggar.

Whenever you might see a painted bowl of oranges they will always represent different things to different people.

To me they represent the giving and the receiving.

A Poem Before & After

“I am the constraint of where I am from

Turn histories pages and there you see a resemblance

See my birth, the traits before me

New virtues brought into the Earth my own

Look at their beginning

The indestructible imperceptibility

Utmost love for the following

Listening indefinitely for a new place

A calling distinctly my own.”

Sayings for All

A little over four years have passed by since I first wrote the vast majority of these proverbial sayings.

“Who made the stars work together to make firm your walking?”

“Who put forth a limit to your understanding so that the ape and the elephant does not know?”

“Good Domestic Policy is fair tithe between all.”

“An exception to an agreed rule brings a finger that will wag or a tongue that will sway.”

“Do you really know the heart of the one speaking things to you?”

“Feet dragging back lose much ground.  A greedy net awaits.”

“No greater or lesser claim can be made when all things are made balanced and fair.”

“Scales well balanced benefit all.  Not a nod or a wink to be seen.”

“Happiness receives much gain and its home is a joy to see.”

“Wisdom is Open & Non Judgemental.  Everyone knows exactly where this stands.”

“Honesty attracts interest.  Reward will be great at a promise well kept.”

Even Wisdom says “We are here and we erred.  Please now, let our neighbours help us to sell in our streets and we will service all your roads with joy.”

“Great Speakers are good Conductors.  Leaders rather than unseasoned followers.  Yielders to reason rather than bucklers for selfish gain.”

“Pawns once removed shift balance whilst equal numbers percent a pleasing draw to conclude.”

“Time is a two-way pressure.  Yet all things seem relative to only One.”

“Will Confusion lose track of now? Or will it tire six or even seven moves ahead?”

“Resolve lifts up the shoulders, a helping hand keeps comforting a burden.”

“A family is like a beloved homeland.  A castle with a roaring fire against the cold and a contented nest for its warmth.”

“Home is a comforting blanket of love residing under one roof.”

“The wise man said, ‘Repair leaks today before night falls!’”

“The Sun provides energy in its daytime.  The moon is a gentle guide in darkness.”

“A contender can speak brash words to stir up whilst a seasoned Champion speaks of calm.”

“Equal is the work of the strong ones hands and the speed of their thoughts.”

“One that works hard in life sees prosperous gain. It is like Gold, Silver and Bronze for its sheer weight or like a purse signed with many colourful banners.”

“An emblem is a sign of fortitude and strength.  Its people speak out glad things and it welcomes strangers as friends.”

“If your emblem is a Lion, will you keep showing strength? If it is an Eagle, will you keep seeing good food far off in your sights?”

“The mere hen of a wealthy person’s garden lays eggs day by day.  She does not concern herself over food nor does she become anxious under rain.”

“A drink quenches the thirst for a moment.  Love is remembered forever.”

“A woman’s heart is at its fullest when suckling her newborn child.”

“Diverse.  Divers.  Context.  Is there a current trend entrenching individual opinion?  Why is there a searching for fault that is not?  Why is there a reading between lines that do not exist? Sensitivity & Sensibility.  The love of different words and the love of different pictures. Moving, Equally.”

Writing Is Its Own Art Form

As an artistic person I enjoy challenges.

Judgment Clock Derides

Chorus

“You are holding onto love
The revolving trigger of a gun
You’re flying around the skies
Like a Judgement Clock Derides

And when the horseman comes on in
And takes away your pride
And when the singing stops
Judgement Clocks… Deride

Then that’s the time
Reflection chimes
Like a lightning bolt of mine
Then that’s the time
You’ll say the words
Are being blown upon your mind

A carriage rocks
The horse unstocked
Then you’re on your own

Then that’s the time
Reflection chimes
Like a lightning bolt of mine
Then that’s the time
You’ll say the words
Are being blown upon your mind

Chorus

You are holding onto love
The revolving trigger of a gun
You are flying around the skies
Like a Judgement Clock Derides

And when the horseman comes on in
And takes away your pride
And when the singing stops
Judgement Clocks… Deride

Then that’s the time
Reflection chimes
Like a lightning bolt of mine
Then that’s the time
You’ll say the words
Are being blown upon your mind

Then that’s the time
Reflection chimes
Like a lightning bolt of mine
Then that’s the time
You’ll say the words
Are being blown upon your mind”

Jackson Pollock Wows

No. 5 (1948) by Jackson Pollock. 243.8 x 121.9 cm (8ft by 4ft)

No. 5 (1948) by Jackson Pollock.
243.8 x 121.9 cm (8ft by 4ft)

No.5 completed in 1948 is without doubt the most famous abstract painting ever.  Produced by dripping paint onto the canvas during an ordered creative art process.  No. 5 has a beauty all of its own.

Pollock was working at a time when the whole abstract art movement was positively vibrant with pace and ascendency.  If you could hop into H.G. Wells “Time Machine” and travel back to Pollock’s art era you would see the equalling influence of leading abstract painters during his life.

Every artist has their own style and constructive technique.  What demonstrably impressed me about Pollock is his professionalism.  He is meticulous, innovative and inspirational.  Clients often expressed their appreciation for his work with profound eloquence describing the beauty of his art as a rapture or a deeply spiritual experience to them.

Jackson enjoyed layers to add depth.  He understood that dissemination can be beautiful if it’s ordered and fashioned in an exciting way.  This expertise that color and structure can be strongly emotive is why he is a Master of the modern art era.

An Abstract giant where there is little or no perceptible form to discern except that which we perceive as feeling within.

What makes popular?  Who holds the secret?  Why does something non-living have continuing value both monetarily and as a connection to the human experience?  Perhaps the answer is the very question.  Out from a non-living arty contrivance we see the personality on the canvas, the fiberboard, the paper or the multitude of ‘watercoloured skies’.

Can we really be objective about art?

The Ballet of Swifts & Swallows

“The Ballet of Swifts & Swallows”

“The eager dances of Swallows flying in erratic playful dives, competing the ballet of winged pirouettes with excited cries, Swifts that scatter in cloudy rain filled skies, checking in all directions as dust that appears alive to sweet sunlight sighs, A tiny bat hungrily at our heads whispering loudly for its find, weaving the way through the insect laden murkiness of this dusky night, Geese chattering shrieks pitched ever high, whilst low searching for the glistening of soft blankets below, to plough with their feet like gentle snow. Yes, this is how at day’s end I see my ‘mind’s eye’ on this cushion glow.”
