As an adult artist ‘Self Portrait of a Parrot’ is actually my first experiment with oil paints.  Having produced a lovely pastel artwork, shown above, I decided to overpaint the pastel parrot in oil using the same canvas.

My 2010 ‘Self Portrait of a Parrot’ Oil over Pastel painting is inspired by a photograph.  Creating texture appeals to me with most every oil painting.

Having purchased new canvases in 2012, I wanted to produce what I regard as professionally crafted oil paintings.  My oil painting ‘Creative Mind’ [2012] is the first of my professional artworks.
